Back in Blighty and coming up for air.

Hi Honey I’m home!!!!!! yes I know it’s been a while but I’m back.  First you will notice that I’ve changed.  No more work rest and play as I am finding it more and more difficult to differentiate between the three.  I think what I’ll do with the techie stuff is post those separately with a geek factor warning.

Had a great holiday in Spain, went to Nerja again.  I say again as we go there every year to the family villa.  It’s easy and cheap and what the hell The kids can run riot without upsetting anybody and we even had the chance for a little sail this year and one day we took out a catamaran which was fun (hairy).  If I get around to it I’ll put a few pics in the album to bore the pants off you.

I’ve had a couple of quotes for our driveway to be paved and that took the wind out of my sails a bit.  I should say I wasn’t surprised really as there is quite a big area to do (around 180 sq M) so I’ve just got to grin and bear it and forget about getting a newer car for the time.

the old birthday is drawing closer with an emphasis on the old.  They say life begins at 40 and I know they are lying but I cannot help clinging to that faint hope, mind you I can’t complain I’ve got my health and family is all well what more could you want…….well one of those new 3Ltr Diesel convertible BMW’s would go down well I wonder if the wife has got me one for a present?

Getting real again work hasn’t been too bad since I got back.  I’ve been doing some integration work with an application to demonstrate that we can easily operate with this other application that shall remain nameless to protect the innocent.  The idea being it should give the sales team more ammo to convince people to migrate.  The reality is that they will probably now go down a different line of attack and it never gets shown.  Still it’s done and it’s there so if they want to use it they can.

I am Still ploughing away at a Visual Studio Tools for Office project that I’m now starting to pin down, test and Iron out any funnies.  The next step will be to move the code to a later build of Visual Studio 2005 (RC0) and see what, if anything breaks.  I also need to get a working demo machine up and running so that may throw up issues when running without Visual Studio installed.  It shouldn’t but who knows.

Well signing off now as the sun has just popped it’s head out and I’ve got a hedge to hack down.  Ta Ta
