Well it back to earth with a bang.  Went out for a meal last night for my birthday with the parents and I tried hard to enjoy myself.  Not because of the parents but because Suzanne had told me that the guys who are putting a new block paving driveway in for me had forgotten to lay an electric cable under the blocks.  I needed this to enable electric gate openers and it was the one instruction I left when I went away.  Just promise me this one thing, don't forget the cable I said.  No problem was the answer, I should have started the alarm bells at this point.
To be fair to the lads I found out this morning that the information hadn't got to them from the boss.  Still it annoyed me for a while but I eventually put it out of my mind and tucked into a feast of steak Diane followed by a profiterole mountain to challenge Ayres Rock in Australia.
I'm still not fully over the jet lag yet but I've managed to last past midnight tonight so I'll treat myself to a hearty slab of shortbread and make my way up the apples n pears.
